Arrived in decent time. Easy to install. Amazing power. Has done well for a pond with 6 dirty ducks. Would recommend this to anyone needing a heavy duty pump.

I own a Laguna 2400 pump and decided to have another one as a backup. I purchased the 2900 GPM and coupled it with a 40W PondMaster ultraviolet clarifier. Great product as the other Laguna pump. They both work as a charm.
I believe that Amazon should ALWAYS indicate the size of the inlet and outlets AND OFFER the fittings to other sizes. The Laguna 2900, as its smaller brother, the 2400, have a 1 1/4" outlet and the Pondmaster, a 1 1/2". Aside from this I had no trouble at all. I decided to let the new, 2900 pump working and left the older, proven 2400 as a backup.
Since I live overseas and utility rates are several times those of the USA's, I was concerned about power usage and compared all pond pumps effectiveness by dividing their rated output into the watts consumed. Laguna came on top along with Fishmate, but since I had a "little problem" with a pressure filter that I purchased from them and had a hard time contacting them to get a spare part, to the extent that I desisted to repair my pressure filter's UV system and replaced it with the one with Pondmaster. I don't know about you, but when it becomes hard to get a replacement part, even for a wonderful product, I start looking for other brands.
I do not hesitate from buying a Laguna pump, although I was concerned that nobody wad reviewed this product. Now that I have seen them working, I am also looking at the Laguna 4500 for a larger pond that I have in mind.
